UNDATED (04/29/25) — Governor Andy Beshear announced on Tuesday he has sent two additional requests to FEMA seeking aid for families and communities affected by this month’s flooding. In one, he is asking for individual assistance for residents in 16 counties, including Grayson, Hancock, Meade and Ohio. The other has the governor seeking public assistance for 64 counties, including Breckinridge, in which FEMA has validated damages. The Governor also renewed his request for approval for hazard mitigation for the entire state.

Beshear announced last week the White House approved a request for individual assistance in 13 counties.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Small Business Administration has announced the availability of low-interest federal disaster loans for Kentucky small businesses, nonprofits, and residents affected by the severe storms and flooding.

By virtue of the primary disaster declaration for Butler and Hardin Counties, small businesses and most private nonprofit organizations in Breckinridge, Grayson, Meade and Ohio Counties are eligible to apply for loans to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.
