
FRANKFORT (05/08/26) — Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams said in a news release that nearly 10,000 people registered between April 1 and 20, with the deadline for the May 19 primary election being on April 20. More than 3,000 people were removed due to death or felony convictions. The Republican registration grew by nearly 4,000 voters, and Democratic registration grew by 1,100, with “other” voters growing by nearly half a percent, with 1,700 new voters. Adams said with federal, state, and local races on the ballot, his office is expecting a turnout of about 20% this election on May 19th. Early Excused Absentee Voting is underway at the Breckinridge County Courthouse Monday (05/11) through Wednesday (05/13). In-person ‘No Excuse’ Absentee Voting will take place next Thursday through Saturday (the 14th through the 16th) at the Courthouse from 8am to 4pm.
