BURKESVILLE (04/14/26) — A southern Kentucky woman has been charged with fatally shooting her husband during an argument on Tuesday night. Deputies responding to a report of an accident in Cumberland County found 60-year-old James Edens with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Cumberland County Hospital where he died from his injuries. Authorities later learned that Edens and his wife, Heather, had been in a verbal altercation prior to the wreck where the wife shot the husband, wounding him at the time. Heather Edens was charged with murder and lodged in the Adair County Detention Center.
