FRANKFORT (04/16/26) — Governor Beshear announced Wednesday that a new, modernized driver licensing system and online portal will launch in June, designed to provide online services to reduce wait times at regional offices and minimize paperwork. The improved system will allow Kentuckians to create accounts through the new portal, myDrive, that enables them to pre-apply for a license, permit or ID, request a card replacement, check their current license standing, and more. Kentuckians due to renew in June are strongly encouraged to visit a Driver Licensing Regional Office by June 3rd, as all offices will be closed on the 4th and 5th and hours of operation will be adjusted from June 8th-18th for the system migration.
