Michael Gene Schafer, 70 of Custer, died Saturday (03/21)at University of Louisville Hospital. He is survived by 6 children: Beth Lindsey of Leitchfield, Ashley Schafer of Harned, Jessica Schafer of Brandenburg, Preston Fowler of McQuady, Alicia Armstrong of South Carolina and Brit High of New York State; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren’; 3 brothers: Lawrence and Johnny Schafer, both of Hardinsburg and Steve Schafer of Falls of Rough; 3 sisters: Anna Ford of Falls of Rough, Sue Duggins of Kingswood and Dora Williams of Hawesville. Funeral services will be Thursday (03/26) morning at 11 at the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg with burial in the St. Romuald Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral from 3 to 7pm Wednesday and after 8:30 Thursday morning.
