FRANKFORT (03/17/24) — A bill aimed at improving safety at railroad crossings is moving forward in the Kentucky Legislature. State House Representatives the measure sponsored by Irvington State Representative Josh Calloway and co-sponsored by Brandenburg House member Nancy Tate. The legislation would require railroad companies to clear overgrown vegetation near railroad crossings to help drivers better see oncoming trains. Supporters say blocked visibility near crossings has contributed to serious and even deadly crashes in the past. The bill now heads to the Kentucky Senate for consideration.
