LEWISPORT (02/24/26) — As a public meeting was taking place on the Rough River project, another public meeting was held Tuesday, this one at Lewisport for Terawulf’s plans for the former Century Aluminium site to be converted into a data center. Company officials say the data center will bring in up to one hundred new jobs as well as construction jobs. The company says they are investing billions into the project and that will eventually be seen in taxes and help with schools in the county. Century announced earlier this month that it completed the sale of its Hawesville facility to Justified DataPower LLC, an affiliate of TeraWulf. In announcing the acquisition, the company said operations could begin as early as late next year.
