UPTON (01/31/26) — A weekend camper fire in Hardin County has left one person dead. Firefighters responded to South Dixie Highway in Upton around 8:45 Eastern Saturday morning and were informed en route that an occupant may still be inside the vehicle. The fire was quickly brought under control and a body was found inside the vehicle. The victim’s name was being withheld as an investigation is on-going by the State Fire Marshal’s office.
