
1/22/2026—The Cloverport Board of Education approved the 2027 Fiscal Year draft budget of $20,329,811.95 at a Special Called Meeting Thursday evening.
In other business, Susan Hendricks was re-elected as Board Chairman, and Joe Lynn Thurman was re-elected as Vice Chairman. Shaylin Patrick was elected Secretary, and Suzanne Flood was elected Treasurer.
The Board will meet on the third Thursday of the month at 5:30pm. In June and July, the Board will meet on the fourth Thursday of the month.
The Board approved Family Resource Youth Service Center District Assurance Certification for 2026-2028.
A shortened school week for a student was approved.
The Board approved extended employee leave requests.
The Board declared an oven and ice maker as surplus property.
Board member Laura Sims said the carpet in the Fitness Center needs to be replaced.
Dwight Ashley, Executive Director of the Kentucky Virtual Academy said MAP scores for students in Grades 1,2 and 5 need the most intervention.
In personnel matters, Hannah Flood has been hired as a Substitute Teacher.
Principal Teresa Smith said seven students scored Distinguished on each part of the Kentucky Summative Assessment in May 2025. They are: Cade Springston, Braelynn Tribbett, JD Rupard, Trever Williams, Layla Emery, Max Sharp, and Emma Snyder.
