ELIZABETHTOWN (11/21/25) — A Hardin County couple are facing murder charges after a man allegedly thrown from a second-story balcony in E’town died from his injuries. 39-year-old Shawn Ray Durbin and 36-year-old Nancy Ann Durbin were indicted last week by a Hardin County Grand Jury after a November 13th incident on East Memorial Drive. Police responding to the incident were told by a witness she saw the Durbins drag 62-year-old Bobby Pennington from an apartment and over a second-story balcony. The couple were initially arrested for assault, but the charges were upgraded after Pennington died four days later. Shawn Durbin is also facing charges of resisting arrest for an altercation during his arrest.
