LOUISVILLE (11/05/25) — Officials say the death toll from Tuesday’s crash of a UPS cargo plane near the Louisville International Airport now stands at 12 with at least 20 injuries and a search still on-going for those unaccounted for. A National Transportation Safety Board spokesman said after being cleared for takeoff, a large fire developed in the left wing in the plane, which had gained enough altitude to clear the fence at the end of the runway before crashing just outside Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. Spokesman Todd Inman said surveillance video showed the left wing appeared to detach from the plane before it crashed.
