LOUISVILLE (11/04/25) — A UPS cargo plane crashed shortly after takeoff from the Louisville International Airport Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 5:15 Eastern time as the plane was leaving the UPS bound for Honolulu.
Initial reports had three dead, but the death has increased to nine at least 11 injured. Governor Andy Beshear reported Wednesday that 16 families have reported having relatives not accounted for.
UPS issued a brief statement confirming the crash and that the National Transportation Safety Board is in charge of the investigation.
