10/16/2025—The Cloverport Board of Education approved a Kentucky Interlocal School Transportation Association resolution at their regular meeting Thursday evening. The resolution states that the Board will pursue financing towards the purchase of a new school bus. The estimated cost is $165,000.00.
In other business, the Board amended a board policy dealing with employee background checks.
The Board approved a motion establishing a starting date for a policy dealing with parental leave.
The Board approved job descriptions for the Cloverport Independent School District Lead Custodian and the Kentucky Virtual Academy Lead Counselor.
The following overnight and out-of-state field trips were approved: High School Chinese Language Class to Evansville, IN; Kentucky Youth Assembly in Louisville; and Kentucky United Nations Assembly in Louisville.
The Board discussed allowing Ultimate Championship Wrestling to hold matches once a month on Saturdays in the Gym.
Board member Christa Wethington asked Superintendent Keith Haynes to look in to issues with the Parent Notification System.
