FRANKFORT (10/06/25) — Kentucky State Police are investigating threats made to Kentucky Parole Board members following the release of inmate Ronald Exantus last week. Extanus was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the stabbing attack on a Woodford County family in 2015 that left a boy dead, but has been released to a probationary facility in Florida. The Parole Board voted last month to deny his release. State law, however, required the Department of Corrections to release Exantus on Mandatory Reentry Supervision. The move has spurred calls both in Kentucky and nationally to review the decision.
