
9/2/2025—The Irvington City Council heard the first reading of an ordinance implementing a fee schedule for emergency and non-emergency services provided by the Fire Department at their regular meeting Tuesday evening. A third-party company will invoice and collect the fees on behalf of the Fire Department. The ordinance establishes different fees for residential and business locations.
In other business, the Council approved a bid of $22,000 by Oliver’s Heating and Air Conditioning for an air conditioning unit at City Hall.
The Council approved a bid of $44,805.77 by Coyle Chevrolet for a 2025 Chevrolet Express Van. It will be used by the Operations and Maintenance Department.
The Council tabled action on bids for roof repairs at City Hall.
The Council approved establishing a usage fee of $150.00 for the Bounce House. $50.00 will be returned to the renter if the bounce house is cleaned.
The Police Department received 137 calls for service in August. Tyler Mitchum has been hired as a temporary full-time officer. The city is conducting interviews to hire an officer.
The Fire Department received 15 calls for service in August. The Department will seek bids to repair the roof of the Fire Department building.
Since October 2024, the city has sold 68 business licenses. Since January 2025, the city has sold eleven building permits.
Beth Harrick asked the Council to provide an exemption for golf cart operators who cannot obtain a driver’s license due to medical issues.
The Irvington Christmas Parade is scheduled for November 22, 2025.
Before adjourning, the Council approved a motion to remove Harold Parente from the Code Enforcement Board.
