CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — No. 12 Virginia used a 22-5 run in the second half to beat No. 4 Louisville 71-55 Monday night. London Perrantes scored 18 points and Isaiah Wilkins added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Cavaliers. Freshman V.J. King scored a career-high 24 points for the Cardinals.
The Cards played the game without senior center Mangok Mathiang and sophomore forward Deng Adel, who were suspended for violation of team curfew. Adel is Louisville’s No. 3 scorer with an 11.1-point average. Mathiang has averaged 12.8 points and 7.8 rebounds over the past five contests.
