HAWESVILLE (06/25/25) — An accident involving a helicopter in Hancock County on Wednesday led to widespread power outages. The helicopter was conducting crop spraying operations along Kentucky Highway 69 Wednesday morning when it apparently clipped a power line and went down. The pilot escaped with only a broken leg. Some 36- hundred customers lost power during the incident, but services was eventually restored. The incident is under investigation.
