Breckinridge County Board of Education-Special Called Meeting

6/25/2025—The Breckinridge County Board of Education approved the designation of Parent Square and Google Work Space as “Traceable Communication Systems” at a Special Called Meeting Wednesday evening.  Senate Bill 181, enacted April 1, 2025, requires all local boards to designate an exclusive means for all electronic communications between school staff/volunteers and students.  The system must log and archive all messages to and from students and grant parental access and review rights.

 

In other business, the Board approved a letter of engagement with English, Lucas, Priest and Owsley LLP for legal services for the 2025/26 school year.

 

The Board approved recovery of indirect costs from the Food Service Program for the 2025/26 school year.

 

The Board approved the first reading of the annual Policy/Procedure Manual update.

 

The Board approved an Orientation and Mobility Services agreement with Brian Goemmer of Sellersburg, IN.  The agreement will provide orientation and mobility services to students with visual impairments.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, BCMS Principal Ashley Norwood presented an end-of-year report.
