KY Secretary Of State: Primary Turnout Varied By County

FRANKFORT (05/21/26) — Voter turnout in Tuesday’s primary across Kentucky was varied by county, according to the Secretary of State’s office.

The highest turnout percentage was in Owsley County in eastern Kentucky, where voters had U.S. Senate, 5th Congressman with numerous local races, resulting in a 52% turnout.

Elliott County had the lowest turnout at just over 12 percent.

The highly-watched and heavily funded 4th District Congressional Republican primary only drew 25% turnout across northern Kentucky, which ran just below the statewide average.

Locally, turnout for Breckinridge County was reported at 34.3%.
