HARNED (05/19/26) An accident around 5 Tuesday afternoon in front of Breckinridge County High School sent one person to the hospital for treatment.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the driver of an eastbound vehicle stated he was trying to swat at a wasp or hornet that was in the vehicle, resulting in the vehicle veering into the westbound lane to strike another vehicle head-on.
A female passenger in the westbound vehicle was taken by Breck Central EMS to Breckinridge Memorial for treatment. Neither driver was hurt.
The road was closed or blocked for nearly an hour for the clean-up and getting vehicles around the scene.
Hardinsburg Fire and Police Department and Harned Fire Departments were also called to the scene.
