
5/4/2026—The Irvington City Council approved a Municipal Aid Co-Op Program contract between the city and the Kentucky Department of Transportation at their regular meeting Monday evening. The city will receive $23,599.63 to maintain and repair city streets.
In other business, the Council approved an Inter-Local agreement between the city and Breckinridge Fiscal Court.
The Council heard the first reading of an ordinance repealing, replacing, and combining all other nuisance ordinances dated before August 2009.
The Council approved the second reading of three ordinances.
The first ordinance annexes 80.47 acres on the northerly side of US 60 into the city. This is the future site of the Industrial Park.
The second ordinance establishes regulations for solicitation and solicitors.
The third ordinance establishes a non-exclusive franchise and fee on towing services requested by the Irvington Police Department and regulating such services.
Debby Robinson presented the Council with a petition asking the city not to rename West Kentucky Street. The petition contained seventeen signatures.
Steve Davis asked the Council to close an alley at the end of South 3rd Street.
Mayor Charles Douglas Lucas said the city will have to survey property on North Center Street before it can be sold.
The Council approved five new business licenses. They are: Kentucky Land II; Cundiff Rentals; Cundiff Lawn Care; DAW Properties; and Lancaster Lawn and Landscaping.
Mayor Lucas said repairs on the cross at Cedar Hill Cemetery are complete.
William Ditto thanked the Boy Scout Troop for planting flowers at Eva Carman Park. Eva Carman Day at the Park is scheduled for May 30, from 12 noon to 6:00pm EST.
The Council will have a Special Called Meeting May 7 at 7:00pm to open bids on the Fire Department’s Brush Truck.
