Historic Plaques Taken From Hardin County Courthouse

ELIZABETHTOWN (04/06/26) — Elizabethtown Police are investigating the taking of three historical plaques from the Hardin County Courthouse. The theft is believed to have taken place between March 18th and the 24th. The stolen cast bronze plaques include a 1933 Courthouse Dedication plaque, as well as two 1955 Historical Society plaques commemorating Presidents Abraham Lincoln and President James Buchanan’s ties to Hardin County. Anyone with information on the theft is urged to contact Elizabethtown Police.
