OWENSBORO (03/05/26) — A man has been arrested for murder in connection to a fatal accident last September in Daviess County. A truck driven by Joseph Prater was westbound on Kentucky 144 near the intersection with Boteler Road when it was hit head-on by an SUV driven by 34-year-old Charles Mattingly. Prater died from his injuries while Mattingly was airlifted for treatment. Mattingly was arrested Thursday for murder and DUI after lab results showed controlled substances in his blood from the time of the crash. Mattingly was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center following his arrest.
