OWENSBORO (03/02/26) — The Lady Tigers saw their season ended Monday night in a 49-45 loss to Owensboro Catholic in Girls Region Tournament opening rounds. Adelynn Moorman led the Lady Tigers with 15 points as Breckinridge County built a first half lead, but could not fend off a 2nd-half charge by Catholic. The Lady Tigers end the season with a record of 21 wins and 10 losses. Catholic will play Edmonson County in the Friday semifinals after a late rally by the Lady Cats forced overtime, resulting in a 53-43 win over McLean County. In Tuesday night games, Meade County beat Butler County, 60-53 and Daviess County over Muhlenberg County, 52-30.
COLLEGE STATION, Tx. (03/03/26) — UK Basketball lost for the 4th time in six games with a 96-85 defeat at Texas A&M Tuesday night. Otega Oweh had 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Wildcats, who led 30-18 in the first half before a 27-3 run by the Aggies gave them a 45-33 halftime lead.
LOUISVILLE (03/03/26) — Ryan Conwell scored 23 points, he and Isaac McKneely combined for 10 3-pointers, and Louisville defeated Syracuse 77-62 on Tuesday night at the Yum! Center. J’Vonne Hadley added 19 for the Cardinals, who had lost three of their last four to fall out of the AP Top 25 poll.
LEXINGTON (03/03/26) — University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto announced Tuesday that long-time Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart is stepping from from the post at the end of June to take on a new role with the school. Barnhart was appointed AD in 2002 and became the longest-tenured AD in the SEC and 2nd-longest among Power 4 schools. Kentucky won six NCAA championships under Barnhart, including men’s basketball in 2012.
