Firefighters Respond To Several Field, Woods Fire Reports Over The Weekend

UNDATED (03/02/26) Fire crews were called to several reports of field fires over the weekend: on Sunday, Custer and Harned firefighters were called to the intersection of Rosetta-Corners Road and Highway 86 around 2:30 in the afternoon on a report of a burn that was becoming a field fire. Earlier, Webster and Rhodelia firefighters were called to the 17-thousand block of Highway 144 around 11:45 on a report of another field fire.

On Saturday, Custer, Harned and McDaniels Fire Departments were called to a report of a woods fire in the 700 block of Shiloh Lane just after 1 PM. A short time later, Hardinsburg and Harned Fire Departments were called to a report of a field fire in the 4100 block of South Highway 259, near the intersection of Highway 690 around 1:35 pm. Hardinsburg Fire Department was called to a report of field fire in the 1500 block of Highway 105 around 5:45 pm.

Residents are reminded that the Spring Fire Hazard Season continues until April 30 making it illegal to have any open burning within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland area between the hours of 6 AM to 6 PM.
