
2/19/2026—Dan Drane presented the audit report for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2025, to the Cloverport Board of Education at their regular meeting Thursday evening. The district wide net position increased by $295,809 during the 2025 fiscal year. Long-term debt obligations had a net decrease of $331,319. In a related matter, the Board approved a motion to solicit bids for audit services for the current fiscal year.
In other business, Superintendent Keith Haynes reported on the results of a State Education diagnostic review. There are two main areas for improvement. First, the school needs to create and implement a systematic school-wide framework for continuous improvement by analyzing student data and monitoring progress toward improved outcomes. Second, the school needs to establish clear expectations for curriculum, instruction, and assessment by monitoring processes and feedback to promote consistency across all grade levels.
The Board approved the revised calendar for the current school year. The last day of school for students is May 15.
The Board reviewed the 2026/27 calendar. The first day for students is August 24, 2026, and the last day is May 20, 2027. No action was taken.
The Board approved the job description for the FRYSC Coordinator.
The Board approved soliciting bids for demolition and removal of a house at 105 5th Street and detached garages located at 103 5th Street and 421 Poplar Street.
The Board approved converting the College and Career Readiness teaching position into an instructional assistant position.
The Board approved application of a F4USA+ First Grant for engineering materials.
The Board approved an agreement with the University of the Cumberlands for Option 9 teacher certification. The agreement provides a path for classified staff to attain teaching certification.
Three overnight and out-of-state field trips were approved.
The Board approved a shortened school day for a Kentucky Virtual Academy student.
