
HARDINSBURG (02/11/26) — Two people were transported following an accident around 3:45 Wednesday afternoon on U.S. 60 between Hardinsburg and Cloverport.
According to Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, a FedEx driver had pulled his delivery truck had pulled off of the highway looking for a mailbox and was pulling back onto the road as an on-coming semi approached.
The 18-wheeler, driven by Carroll Hager, applied his brakes to avoid contact when it impacted with a Dodge Charger, causing the semi to flip over a guardrail.
Hager was taken to Baptist Health Hardin by Breck Central EMS , where he was checked out and released.
The driver of the Dodge, a 17-year-old, was transported by ambulance to Brandenburg, then airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital for surgery Thursday morning on a broken leg.
The road was closed for 3-4 hours for cleanup and investigation. Hardinsburg Fire Department and State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement also responded to the scene.
