OWENSBORO (01/06/26) — A Daviess County Detention Center inmate is charged with starting a fire at the facility. Jail staff were alerted to an alarm Tuesday afternoon and found an active fire. Inmates from the affected area were evacuated while the fire was extinguished. No inmates or staff were hurt 26-year-old Christopher Katz is charged with first-degree arson and 17 counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
