HARNED (01/02/26) — An accident along Freedom Church Road Friday morning involving a semi resulted in a section of the road being shut down for cleanup and investigation this morning. According to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, 79-year-old Donald Tipton of Hardinsburg was operating a Kenworth semi-truck hauling grain in the direction of Highway 60 when the vehicle ran off the left shoulder while rounding a curve just before 6:15 Friday morning. The semi overturned onto an embankment and came to rest on its side. Tipton was not injured but the roadway was shut down for about two hours for the semi to be removed from the ditch. The Harned Fire Department, Breck Central EMS and Breckinridge County Emergency Management also responded to the scene.
