
11/24/2025—The Irvington City Council approved the second reading of an ordinance establishing a business and occupational license tax at a Special Called Meeting Monday evening. The business tax is 1.5%, capped at 3.0%, and will be placed on all business entities within the city limits. The occupational tax is 0.25%, capped at 0.50%, and will be placed on all persons working within city limits. The ordinance includes several exemptions. Money generated will be placed in the General Fund.
The vote was 4-0. Johnathan Mattingly and Rhea Ballman did not attend the meeting.
A Public Hearing was held prior to the vote, but no one spoke.
