Fort Knox soldiers will pay tribute to President Zachary Taylor at a wreath-laying ceremony at the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville. Each year, a military general or flag officer lays a wreath, provided by the White House, at the gravesite of each deceased former U.S. president on the anniversary of their respective births.

Taylor was the 12th president and is a Louisville native. He joined the army in 1808, was sworn into office in 1849, and served as president for 16 months before his death in 1850. The ceremony is scheduled for Monday at 11 am ET.
