MAYS LICK (11/16/25) — Kentucky State Police have charged two men after a KSP helicopter experienced strikes from a laser device in Mason County earlier this month. The aircraft was aiding in the search for a missing juvenile on November 3rd when it was subjected to multiple laser strikes and had shots fired at it near the Mayslick community, one with on-board suffering an eye injury. The suspects were later identified as 49-year-old Jason McKee of Mayslick and 55-year-old Donald W. Boone of Aberdeen, Ohio. Both are charged with wanton endangerment.
