BARDSTOWN (10/06/25) — Brooks Houck has filed an appeal to his murder conviction in the 2015 death of former girlfriend Crystal Rogers. In an appeal to the Kentucky Supreme Court, Houck argues the presiding judge not recusing himself from the case, denial of an appeal and consolidation of his trial with convicted co-conspirator Joseph Lawson. Houck was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in connection to Rogers’ death. Lawson was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
