
9/15/2025—The Cloverport City Council approved a resolution seeking a Grant from the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority/Cleaner Water Program at their regular meeting Monday evening. The grant request is for $256,000.
In a related matter, Mayor Candy Weatherholt told the Council that the city did not receive a sewer overflow/storm water grant.
The Council set Trick or Treat hours. They are from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, October 31.
The city has sold 441 city stickers.
The Police Department received 46 calls for service in August. The department issued seven city citations.
The Fire Department made 15 runs in August.
The Code Enforcement Board has sent seventeen nuisance letters. Four letters have been sent to Carolyn Barr. Two recipients have agreed to clean up their property. The Code Enforcement Board is awaiting response from the other recipients. The Board is seeking assistance from the Health Department and Fire Marshall’s Office in dealing with nuisance violations.
The Council approved a motion to draft an ordinance modifying fines for nuisance violations. The first reading will be presented at the October meeting.
A resident asked the city to consider reinstituting a 401K retirement plan for city employees. No action was taken.
The Christmas Parade is set for December 6 at 6:00pm.
