LOUISVILLE (09/08/25) — Gas prices in western Kentucky are a penny cheaper this week than last, according to the weekly AAA survey. The average price was $2.85 per gallon, down from 2.86 last week. Nationally, prices have been fairly stable for the last couple of months with only one significant increase at the end of last month, when the largest refinery in the Midwest in northern Indiana went off-line due to flooding. After the refinery came back online in just a few days, gas prices stabilized. As of Monday, the AAA price website showed the statewide average at 2.89 per gallon with the local average at 2.81 per gallon for basic unleaded.
