LEXINGTON (09/02/25) — A University of Kentucky student charged last week in the death of an infant who was placed in a trash bag at her home has pleaded innocent to charges. 21-year-old Laken Snelling posted a $100,000 bond after a hearing Tuesday in Lexington and is now on home incarceration at her parent’s house in Tennessee. Snelling was charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant. Her next court appearance is scheduled for September 26th.
