VALLEY STATION (08/31/25) — Louisville Police are investigating a fatal accident Sunday morning near Valley Station involving at least four vehicles along Dixie Highway. Police determined a vehicle was driving south on Dixie Highway when the driver attempted to change lanes and struck another vehicle also driving south. The first vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes and hit a third vehicle, causing the third to hit a fourth vehicle also going north. The driver of the first vehicle was declared dead at the scene. He was identified as 77-year-old Gary Wright of Owensboro. The driver of the third vehicle, 63-year-old Tami Jo Hawkins of West Point, was taken to UofL Hospital where she later died.
