
LOUISVILLE (09/02/25) — A 12-year-old girl is dead, and a woman and an infant child are suffering from life-threatening injuries after a drunk driver ran into the back of their car along the Gene Snyder Freeway early Monday morning. Metro Police said the vehicle struck overturned into the median, causing the deceased and the child’s mother to be ejected from the vehicle. The 12-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene; her mother and the infant were taken to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries. 34-year-old Renaldo Gill was arrested on scene and is being charged with murder, wanton endangerment, assault, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, and other charges. The child’s mother is also facing charges for not having their children properly restrained in the vehicle. An investigation in on-going.
