HARNED (08/22/25) — 3rd Quarter miscues would doom the Tigers in their season opener last Friday night against Butler County: a 14-14 halftime tie was broken when Butler County scored on their opening drive, then recovered a mishandled squib kick to engineering another touchdown drive to make it 32-14. Breckinridge County mishandled another squid kick before stopping the Bears, but a turnover on the drive lead to another Butler County score. The two teams traded touchdowns in the final quarter, providing for the final margin of 42-30.

Junior Quarterback Jacob Spitzer factored in all four of the Tigers’ touchdowns last Friday (3 passing, 1 rushing), throwing for 187 yards and running for 79. Junior Walter Hopper had 82 yards receiving and two touchdowns, while Paxton DeWitt caught the third scoring pass. On the defensive side of the ball, Hudson Wrenn led the Tigers with 10 tackles, Black McGuffin and Luke Roe registered quarterback sacks, Landon Shartzer had a fumble recovery and Braeden Fitzpatrick had an interception.
