Shooting At Western Kentucky High School Football Game, Leaves One Wounded, Juvenile Arrested

MAYFIELD (08/24/25) — A shooting at a high school football game in Mayfield Friday night left a teenager wounded and resulted in a juvenile taken into custody.

The incident happened in a parking lot adjacent to the War Memorial Stadium at Mayfield High School, where a game between Mayfield and Graves County was taking place. Police believe the shooting resulted from a physical altercation between 18-year-old Jordan Riley of Farmington and a juvenile.

A second juvenile, only identified as a 14-year-old from Fulton shot and wounded Riley in the arm and upper torso. Riley was airlifted to an out-of-state hospital but was listed in stable condition. No one else was injured.

The 14-year-old has been charged with 1st degree assault and placed in a juvenile detention facility. The shooting remains under investigation.

Counselors were made available Saturday for students at Mayfield.
