LEITCHFIELD (08/15/25) — The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office says a Leitchfield woman died from injuries suffered in an accident last Friday. An investigation determined 59-year-old Mary Haynes was headed north on Shrewsbury Road when for unknown reasons, the vehicle swerved, crossed the southbound lane, and struck a ditch. Haynes’ Cadillac overturned and traveled down the ditch and struck a deep culvert with the driver’s front end. The vehicle came to final rest on its top in the ditch facing east. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grayson County Deputy Coroner Joe Brad Hudson. Haynes was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown about inside the vehicle.
