Deputies in Hardin County are investigating after an attempted murder-suicide that occurred Sunday (8/3) morning. A shooting was reported on Hayden School Road during a custody exchange.
Officials say the domestic situation started as the wife was picking up her son from her husband around 11 AM ET. The wife was parked next to him and her husband began firing shots at the utility vehicle. Previously, the woman told officials she felt as though he were acting odd leading up to the exchange. The woman returned to her mother’s home and called 911. When officers started arriving, the man shot and killed himself at the scene.
The wife was shot in her shoulder but she refused transport. The child was not hurt.
