
Police in Meade County are investigating weekend incidents involving juveniles. The first incident occurred Friday evening prompting Brandenburg Police to issue an alert related to 2 or 3 walking in the area of Lafayette Street after an accident. The occupants in the wrecked vehicle fled the scene, it was discovered that the car involved was stolen from Hardin County. Police were not able to immediately locate the individuals.
On Saturday, Brandenburg Police received a report of a stolen vehicle. Police spotted the stolen vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on the Bypass near Broadway Street. The operator of the vehicle fled on foot from the traffic stop and was apprehended near the storage units on Shannon Lane. The Operator of the vehicle was a juvenile. Through investigation, there were two other juveniles involved and all three were in the vehicle that crashed on Lafayette street. These same juveniles on Friday night went on a theft spree in the city limits of Brandenburg. They went through several vehicles that were unlocked.
All juveniles were arrested and will be going before a judge in juvenile court. The investigation remains ongoing.
