
7/29/2025—The Cloverport Board of Education approved the 2025/26 professional development plan and student handbooks at a Special Called Meeting Tuesday evening.
In other business, the Board approved the 2025/26 certified evaluation plan. Teachers will be evaluated on a five-year cycle, which is a change from the previous three-year cycle.
The Board approved the superintendent’s annual professional growth plan. The focus will be on human resources.
The Board approved revision on board policies dealing with personal and sick leave. Classified staff who work 240 days a year will have 12 sick leave days.
The Board approved 2025/26 KSBA employees, coaches, and substitute handbooks.
The Board approved all athletic and academic field trips to Cannelton and Tell City during the 2025/26 school year.
The Board approved Jefferson and Owensboro Community and Technical College traceable communications applications for dual credit students.
The Board approved 2026 Fiscal Year district funding assurances.
The Board approved the Kentucky Virtual Academy Multi-Tiered System of Supports Coordinator job description.
The Board approved moving sick leave short term liability from Fund 9 to Fund 1.
The Board approved trips by the Junior and Senior Beta Club to Lexington, KY in March 2026.
In personnel matters, Garrett Whiteker has been hired as a K-12 Health and PE teacher and Kayden Dixon has been hired as an after-school program aide.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Board recognized Cole Matthews, who is graduating one year early.
Ready Fest is set for August 4 from 3:00 to 5:00pm.
The first day of school for students is August 6.
