LOUISVILLE (07/30/25) — Louisville Metro police are investigating after a man was found dead in the Ohio River Wednesday morning. A police spokesman said officers received a call from a barge operator around 7 a.m. reporting a body in the river near the Portland Canal. Officers and Louisville Fire officials arrived shortly after and found a man deceased in the water. The victim’s identity had not been determined as of Wednesday morning.
