UPDATE: FAA Investigating Small Plane Crash Near Hardinsburg on Thursday

HARDINSBURG (07/24/25)  — A few more details have been released regarding Thursday’s small plane crash near the Breckinridge County Airport. According to an FAA incident log, The Lancair 360 single-engine plane crashed into a tree for “unknown reasons” on approach to the airport from the west side  just before 10am.

Two people were on board- the pilot and a passenger- both unidentified. Officials told WXBC News that both were already out of the plane by the time emergency personnel arrived on scene but were taken to a hospital for treatment. The crash remains under investigation.
