HARDINSBURG (07/23/25) — A man who pleaded guilty to charges in connection to the 2022 murder of a Harned woman has been sentenced in Breckinridge Circuit Court. 55-year-old Rodney D. Jones of Hardinsburg was sentenced on Wednesday to fifteen years in prison for conspiracy to commit murder, and 15 years for conspiracy kidnapping/victim death. The sentences will run concurrently for a total of fifteen years. Jones was one of three people arrested in connection to the murder of 59-year-old Beverly Smallwood, whose body was found at a residence off Highway 60 back in June of 2022.
