7/21/2025—The Cloverport City Council approved two resolutions accepting appropriations from the Cleaner Water Grant at their regular meeting Monday evening.  The appropriations are: $18,120.00 for design of the Highway 105 Campground sewer system; $75,000.00 for sanitary sewer evaluation studies; $152,380.00 for leak detection; $6,500.00 for water tank inspection; and $8,439.00 for a holding tank at the Highway 105 Boat Dock.

 

The Council did not approve the monthly financial statement.  Councilman Derrick Henderson presented a sample of Lewisport’s financial report.  He asked that Cloverport follow the same pattern.

 

The city has sold 363 city stickers.  The current price is $25.00.

 

Public Works Director Eddie Lee said they are repairing two water leaks on Elm Street.

 

The Fire Department received 27 calls for service in June.  They ask that people do not burn anything other than seasoned wood.  Some examples of items banned are plastics, clothes, and grass clippings.

 

The Council discussed abandoned property owned by Carolyn Barr.  Councilman Ethan Lamar asked that Barr be invited to the next council meeting to discuss plans for her properties.

 

The Council discussed the need to regularly clean Main Street.

 

Before adjourning, Councilman Henderson and Mayor Candy Weatherholt got in to a discussion of statements made by Henderson regarding water bills at the last Council meeting.
