LEXINGTON (07/16/25) — Kentucky State Police released more information Wednesday about the trooper who was shot while conducting a traffic stop near Lexington’s Bluegrass Airport Sunday, which escalated to fatal shootings at a Lexington church. Three people died, including the suspected gunman, while three other people remain hospitalized. Preliminary findings of an investigation indicate Trooper Jude Remilien conducted the stop on Terminal Drive. During the stop, 47-year-old Guy House fired at Remilien, leaving him seriously injured. Remilien is listed in stable condition at a Lexington hospital. House fled the scene, stole a vehicle, then drove to the Richmond Road Baptist Church, where he killed two people and wounded two others before he was shot by police.
