HARTFORD (07/11/25) — A Hartford Police officer is recovering after crashing his cruiser in a ditch while pursuing a suspect. According to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a report of an accident Friday in the area of Mud College and Johnson School Roads. An investigation determined the Hartford officer made contact with a suspect, who fled from a stop. During the pursuit, the officer ran into the ditch. He was transported to a medical facility with non life-threatening injuries. The fleeing vehicle was later located, but its operator had left the scene. The suspect was later identified as Castulo Garcia and now has warrants issued for his arrest.
